Meet CVA’s valedictorian and salutatorian

Central Valley Academy proudly honors its Class of 2018 valedictorian Kaylee Miller and salutatorian Caroline Gardner.

Valedictorian Kaylee Miller

Kaylee’s outstanding grades and work ethic have earned her the RPI Medal, the CANY Scholastic Recognition Award for achievement in Math and Science, the U.S. Air Force Math and Science Award, and the National Merit Commended Scholar recognition.

In addition to her studies, she has been a member of the National Honor Society, Book Club, Math Club, Band, Jazz Band, and varsity golf and volleyball teams.

This fall, Kaylee will attend Marist College where she will major in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Creative Writing. She is the daughter of Amy and Richard Miller of Mohawk.

Salutatorian Caroline Gardner

Caroline’s academic accomplishments are matched only by love of art and culture. She spent part of her senior year studying in Austria, home of famed composers Hadyn, Schubert, and Strauss. She received the St. Michael’s Book Award for academic achievement with a social conscience and the Student Sage Award for academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement. She auditioned for and was chosen to perform at the NYSSMA Piano Showcase

She has been a member of the of the National Honor Society, Drama Club, TriM Music Honor Society, all CVA music performance groups, and varsity golf and field hockey teams.

Caroline will attend Bowling Green State University in September where she will major in Music/Piano Performance. She is the daughter of Cathleen and Andrew Gardner of Richfield Springs.
