Meet student Casey Johnson

Casey Johnson standing in front of a window.Hi! My name is Casey Johnson. I attend Jarvis Middle School and am in eighth grade in Mrs. Rachon’s advisory class.

What is your favorite thing about school?

My favorite thing about school is that there are so many different things that students are able to participate in and that there is so much diversity!

What have you learned that you think is important?

I have definitely learned that there are so many details we don’t understand about each other and sometimes we judge before we hear a person’s story; it is important to consider someone’s feelings before saying something out of place.

If you could change just one thing about school, what would that be?

All the drama in our school. We come to learn and interact with our friends and teachers, but some kids make it so negative and change the meaning.

What would you like to do for a living some day?

I don’t 100% know what I want to do for a living yet because I have so many interests, so I have to think about that more.

Do you participate in any activities outside of school? If so, what do you do and what do you like best about those activities?

I participate in cross country and volleyball. I definitely enjoy sports a lot and being able to compete against other schools. I especially enjoy cross country because I love running and to me it is more of an independent sport.

If you could do anything on a weekend, what would you do?

I enjoy hanging out with my friends and going out to do something fun! I like being able to get out and do something.

What is your favorite book or author?

I don’t read a lot, but I do enjoy J.K. Rowling.

If we were to listen to your iPod or MP3, what would be playing?

I love listening to Ed Sheeran, James Arthur and John Mayer!

What is your favorite television show or movie?

I don’t have a number one favorite, but right now I am watching Riverdale.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I would probably go to Italy or Ireland because Italy is so diverse and to see their culture would be really cool! Ireland has always interested me. I would like to see Dublin!

What one thing would you share that people might not know about you?

Haha! I don’t like eating ice cream with a spoon. I prefer to use a fork.
