Share the holiday spirit! Support our many December drives

Central Valley has several ways you can help out others during this holiday season.

CVA

  • Coat Drive—National Honor Society is sponsoring a coat drive during the months of November and December.  If you have any gently used winter coats and apparel that you would like to donate, please drop them off in the box located in the CVA Main Office.  Please contact Andrea Donahue (adonahue@cvalleycsd.org) or Sarah Seamon (sseamon@cvalleycsd.org) with any questions.
  • Canned Food Drive for Feed our Vets—Key Club is collecting canned food to be donated to the Feed our Vets food pantry in Utica.
  • Canned Food Drive—Rotary Club has a box in the main office for donations.
  • Cheer Baskets—Continuing the holiday tradition, Student Council makes us give baskets that they deliver to shut-ins in Mohawk and Ilion. Consider donating hats/mittens/gloves, canned foods, non-perishables such as crackers, etc.) Deadline in Dec. 15.

Jarvis

  • Regifted Rummage Sale—Jarvis Yearbook Club’s annual drive collects “regifted” items that students may purchase as gifts for  5¢ to $5. Learn more
  • Operation Candy Cane Cards for Vets—Send a holiday card to the soldiers travelling through the U.S. Marine Cpl. Gregory J. Harris Military Courtesy Room at Hancock International Airport in Syracuse. The room is used by active-duty military personnel, particularly those traveling through the airport on deployment, and serves as a location to relax, grab a complimentary bite to eat and wait for their flights.
  • Student Council St. Jude Drive—Contribute money or toys that we’ll donate to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (where pediatric cancer patients pay nothing for any treatment not covered by insurance). Students will support the effort with their donations at a school dance on Dec. 13.
  • National Junior Honor Society Pajama Day for the Herkimer Humane Society—In exchange for a cash donation to the Herkimer Humane Society, your favorite student can wear pajamas to school on Dec. 22. Don’t have a student? That’s okay, just drop off your donation at the Jarvis Main Office.

Fisher

  • Giving Tree—Help us cover our Christmas tree with new hats, mittens, gloves and scarves that we will share with those in need.
  • Pajama Drive—Winter nights can be cold—especially for those who don’t have warm pajamas. Consider donating a pair that we can share. Boys, girls, with feet or without, all sizes. We’ll gladly take them all through Dec. 8.
  • Humane Society—Remember our furry friends with something special for those awaiting a new home. We’d like:
    • Bedding
