Despite being virtual for the majority of the year, Central Valley Academy's National Honor Society continued to find ways to serve the community.

In December, members braved the cold to ring the bell for the Salvation Army's annual  Red Kettle Campaign. Also in December, Honor Society held a food drive to support local Catholic Charities food pantries.

In January and February, members organized a drive to collect snacks for local frontline healthcare workers.

"COVID put a strain on so many organizations and individuals," said NHS co-adviser Sarah Seamon.

"It was harder for groups to find volunteers to collect money or supplies. We were able to step in and help fill the gap. Our efforts will help provide for people who are out of work, whether due to the pandemic or business closings and layoffs. They also show our appreciation to those in healthcare who put themselves at risk."

"Thank you to everyone who helped out and donated to make these events happen."
