Voters approve the 2022-23 budget

Central Valley School District voters went to polls on Tuesday, May 17 and approved the district’s proposed 2022-23 school budget  yes 333—  no 36. The budget passed with 90.2 percent in favor. Voters approved the district's proposed capital project. Voters also elected Jason Sanchez, Matt Darrow, and Valerie Day to three-year terms to the board of education. 

The $52,414,760 budget increases spending 2.62 percent or $1,340,598 over the current year and carries no tax levy increase.

The final count was:

  • Yes— 333
  • No— 36

The $15 million capital project will address routine maintenance and modernize signs across the district.

The final count was:

  • Yes— 313
  • No— 57

Voters elected Jason Sanchez, Matt Darrow, and Valerie Day to the Board of Education. The final count for each candidate was:

  • Jason Sanchez—266
  • Matt Darrow—270
  • Valerie Day—305
