Central Valley CSD is  pleased to announce that Jessica Bowman will be the new principal of Harry M. Fisher Elementary School. Mrs. Bowman had expressed interest in the position upon learning that Fisher principal Michele Pilla had accepted a principal position at New Hartford CSD. After careful consideration, we chose to interview Mrs. Bowman before seeking outside candidates. She met with Director of Human Resources Sally McCann-Kramas and Central Valley Superintendent Jeremy Rich. They then recommended to move Mrs. Bowman forward for building-level interviews. Mrs. Bowman received the unanimous approval of the Fisher Elementary panel.

"I could not be more pleased with this selection," said Mr. Rich.

"Mrs. Bowman is highly qualified, experienced as an administrator, familiar with our Central Valley, and has a deep commitment to our students, faculty, and staff. With her at the head, Fisher staff and community can be confident our children will receive the very best we can offer."

Mrs. Bowman is a Mohawk Central School '93 graduate. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Hamilton College in 1997 and her Masters in Education from Syracuse University. She returned to Mohawk Central School as a math teacher at Fisher Elementary. She then taught fifth and sixth grade math at Mohawk Central School and at Central Valley Central School for 19 years. She earned her Educational Leadership Certificate of Advanced Study from Stony Brook University in 2018. She has been the Jarvis Middle School assistant principal for the last four and a half years.

"I am a life-long resident of Mohawk, and have been involved in the school district and our community through a variety of roles," she said.

"I look forward to continuing this involvement as principal at Fisher.  I am dedicated to the academic, social, and emotional success of all Central Valley students, and the promotion of best instructional practices to reach all learners.  I am very excited for the future of our Central Valley School District and our students, and I look forward to serving our students in my new role."
