It’s “Book Madness” in Mrs. Rorick’s class

The second graders in Mrs. Rorick’s class at Fisher Elementary have begun “Book Madness”. To correlate with the NCAA Basketball Tournament and its famous “bracket”, the students will listen to 32 Caldecott Award winning books throughout the month of March and crown a champion on April 7th.

Each day, the students will listen to two books and vote for a winner. The winner will continue along on the bracket until it loses. Only one book will be chosen as the best. Will it be a known classic like “Where the Wild Things Are” or a more modern story like “Flotsam?” Only time will tell which story the class feels is most deserving. Students at Fisher Elementary can check out the books that have won each round by looking at our bracket found in the hallway.

Mrs. Rorick would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Behe and Mrs. Day in the library for finding the books for our class to read as well as Mrs. Slentz in the Instructional Support Center for creating our bracket.

Stay tuned to see who wins on April 7th.
