BookFace—not Facebook?

T he CVA Book Club is always looking for ways to share their love of literature. Who thought their latest effort would be with a camera?

Drawing inspiration from a recent New York Times article about librarians flooding social media with “Bookface” pictures (not Facebook), the club took a stab at making their own.

According to the article, “Bookface involves strategically lining up your face or another body part alongside a book cover that features a matching body part so that there appears a melding of life and art. Librarians and other book lovers post these photos weekly on visual apps like Instagram, using the caption # BookfaceFriday.”

CVA Library Media Specialist Steve Inzer said, “When I first saw the article, I knew I wanted to try this with the book club. They are a fun, creative, and energetic group. They had a blast!”
