The CVA Symphonic Band under the direction of Band Director Michael Fenton had the honor of participating once again in the annual Memorial Day parade through the Village of Mohawk.  Playing a trio of patriotic songs, the band also was honored to participate in the annual memorial service at the Mohawk Cemetery.  The service was led by members of the Crowley – Barnum Post 25 of the American Legion.  Following the ceremony, the band continued on to the Crowley – Barnum post where a second flag ceremony was held.  Taps was played at both ceremonies by Senior band member Will Paddock.

Many in attendance expressed their appreciation to members of the band and Mr. Fenton for participating in the parade.

“It’s a highlight of our year,” said Mr. Fenton.

“I’m proud of the students for coming out today to honor those who have served our country.”

Fenton went on to say that the parade this year meant a little something extra to him as Senior Band Member Andrew Cross will be joining the United States Navy after graduation.
