Central Valley Academy will celebrate its first Junior Prom, “Vintage Elegance,” on Saturday, May 10. Festivities begin with the Grand March 3:30-5 p.m. in the CVA gymnasium.
Following Grand March, prom goers will caravan to The Farmer’s Museum in Cooperstown for pre-prom activities. Students will be able to ride the museum’s vintage carousel and enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides around the grounds. A catered dinner, dancing to a DJ and announcement of the prom court follow from 7 to 11 p.m. in the museum’s Louis C. Jones Center.
After a night of dinner and dancing, prom-goers are invited to attend a free post-prom breakfast from midnight-1 a.m. at the Ilion Elks Club.
Prom advisor and CVA media specialist Steve Inzer said everyone has worked to make this inaugural event special for the 195 students and 12 chaperones attending.
