Fisher celebrates favorite books

Tphoto of wall covered with posterso promote reading, the Fisher Elementary library held a month-long National Reading Month contest for grades 2-4.

Each student was given the opportunity to create a poster about their favorite book. The posters were displayed in front of the library.

Art teacher John Daley and library teacher assistant Marilyn Behe judged all entries and awarded prizes on Mar. 27. The winners were:

  • First place (five books of his choice and a surprise gift):  Austin Tubia for “Harry Potter”
  • Second place (two books of choice and a surprise): Ariana Ellis: “Double Fudge”
  • Third place (one book and a surprise):
    • Alexandria Duga for “The Chronicles of Prydain”
    • Delaney Francisco for “Pipi Longstocking”
    • Briar Holden for “Big Red Lollipop”
    • Kaila Blanch for “Baby Mouse Our Hero”
    • Chloe Hendrick for “Garfield’s A Good Friend is…”
