In what has become an annual tradition, Harry M. Fisher Elementary School went pink on Thursday, Oct. 15. Throughout the week, students and their families and school staff pitched in to raise more than $3,000 to support breast cancer research.
One of the students’ highlights came on Thursday when each grade took a turn in the gymnasium for some aerobic dancing to Silento’s “Watch Me” (Whip It, Nae, Nae).
“Although breast cancer is a serious matter that affects so many around us, we try to keep this positive for our students. We want them to understand that we can tackle any problem, no matter how big, when we all pitch in to help,” said Fisher Principal Fran LaPaglia.
“PE teachers Tara Raux and Joe Patrei and first grade teacher Danielle Bernard deserve much of the credit for their efforts to make this all happen.”
