On Mar. 24, the Jarvis gym was host to some of middle school’s best “brainiacs” as over 80 students participated in the 3rd annual Jarvis Learning Fair! A learning fair resembles a science fair in format but allows participants to investigate and present their learning on any topic of their choice. Projects ranging from hydrofracking to chemistry and history to bullying were represented. Last fall, Central Valley undertook a Lego Robotics program that also presented at the event.
Students were evaluated by a variety of judges from Jarvis, CVA and the community. Categories judged consisted of individual knowledge and creativity. Each student was awarded a medal and received a book of their choice for participating. Overall, the judges were very impressed with both the level of knowledge and enthusiasm presented with each project. The student demonstrations show that at Jarvis Middle School, learning lives – and students rock!!
