The Central Valley Central School District Foundation (a.k.a. The Foundation) is a 501.C.3, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the educational opportunities for all the students of the Central Valley School District.
The Foundation has its origins in the former Ilion Central School District Foundation established in 1995. It transitioned with the 2013 merger of Ilion and Mohawk into the Central Valley CSD Foundation.
The group of up to 15 community volunteers focuses on raising money to support the district’s students and teachers. Although the Foundation raises most of it money through fundraisers, it greatly appreciates donations and bequests in honor of or in memory of individuals.
The Foundation has a professionally managed investment portfolio of approximately $223,000 that funds scholarships. In addition to scholarships, the Foundation has also provided financial assistance for educational programs such as the anti-bullying program Rachel’s Challenge and the State Farm Distracted Drivers Program. Over the last 19 years, the Foundation has funded the purchase of lab coats for science class, sports uniforms and equipment, and many more materials, equipment, and programs that could not readily financed under the annual school budget.
