Hi! My name is Brandy Cacciatore. I am the school nurse at Central Valley Academy.
How long have you been teaching or working in the district?
I started working here in the district since September 2017. I previously worked with the district as a 1:1 aide and in attendance years ago.
What do you like best about what you do?
I enjoy the nursing profession because we are constantly learning new things, there is always room for growth, and it is one job that never stops giving.
What event here at Central Valley CSD has made/makes a difference to you personally and in your career?
When I first started nursing I knew I wanted to work somewhere with kids, and thought my ideal job would to be a school nurse. When the opportunity arose here in the district I couldn’t have been any happier to finally settle into a career that I would love coming to everyday.
What former jobs have you held?
Prior to working here in the district I was working in a local pediatric office. I have worked in pediatrics for the last 9 years.
Where were you educated?
I went to school in Holland Patent.
Where have you lived?
I have always lived in New York. I grew up in Floyd, and moved to the Ilion/Mohawk area in 2002.
If you could do anything on a weekend, what would you do?
Anything that didn’t involve cleaning. I live in a house full of boys!
What book and/or author are you currently reading?
I wish I was reading something by Nicholas Sparks, but I am currently reading nursing material.
If we were to listen to your iPod or sound system, what would be playing?
You would find a mix of all music. I don’t have one favorite, I like old and current music.
What is your favorite television show/movie/actor?
Currently my family and I are binge watching “The Goldberg’s”. We recently were introduced to the show, and it is hysterical!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I would love to one day travel to Italy. Great food, beautiful art, some of the best beaches, and beautiful cities.
What one thing would you share that people might not know about you?
I have three boys all of which are in different schools here in the district, two older step-children, and have been married for 14 years.
