Hi! My name is Diane Kosakowski. I am a technology teacher at Barringer Road Elementary and have been teaching four years.
What event here at Central Valley CSD has made/makes a difference to you personally and in your career?
Starting the Barringer Road Tech Club allowed me the opportunity to not only involve the students in a technology based aftershool program but it also encouraged me to learn new topics such as Lego Robotics.
What former jobs have you held?
Before becoming a teacher, I was an aide at Remington Elementary for three years.
Where were you educated?
I went to school in Sauquoit Valley. I went to SUNY Oneonta for my Bachelors degree and Utica College for my Masters degree.
Where have you lived?
Oneonta, NY and Sauquoit, NY.
If you could do anything on a weekend, what would you do?
I would either drink coffee and read a book or I would go hiking.
What book and/or author are you currently reading?
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.
If we were to listen to your iPod or sound system, what would be playing?
It would either be country, pop or classic rock. I like just about anything.
What is your favorite television show/movie/actor?
I love Fixer Upper on HGTV.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I would go to Poland to see where my family comes from.
What one thing would you share that people might not know about you?
I am terrified of swimming in the ocean. I will only go into the water up to my waist.
