Meet staff member Jing Huang

Photo of CVA Teacher Jing HuangHi! My name is Jing Huang. I teach Mandarin Chinese at Central Valley Academy. This is my first year at Central Valley School District, but have been teaching four years.

What do you like best about what you do?

I like spending time with my students while inspiring and motivating them to learn the Chinese language and culture.

What former jobs have you held?

I have been teaching Chinese four years. I was working for two language schools in Beijing and Shenzhen in China from 2010-2012. During that time, I started my online degree to teach business. In 2013-2014, I taught Chinese as an intern at Albany Academy and Albany High School.

Where were you educated?

    • Masters – Union Graduate College, Schenectady, NY
    • Bachelors – North China Institute of Science/Technology, China

Where have you lived?

China and Upstate New York.

If you could do anything on a weekend, what would you do?

Hiking, traveling, swimming and cooking.

If we were to listen to your iPod or sound system, what would be playing?

Coldplay, Radiohead and Jack Johnson.

What is your favorite television show/movie/actor?

I like the Marvel superhero movies and the show Undercover Boss!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Hawaii because it is such a beautiful place! I also want to go back to China to see my family!

What one thing would you share that people might not know about you?

I want to improve my English and continue to learn more about the culture so I can fit in the United States better!
