Hi! My name is Liza Gonzalez-Brondou. I teach Spanish to grade 5, 7, and 8 students at Jarvis Middle School.
How long have you been teaching or working in the district?
This is my first year at Central Valley.
What do you like best about what you do?
I enjoy exposing students to the world around them and making a connection.
What former jobs have you held?
I worked for several years at The Village Toy Shop in New Hartford and a Spanish teacher at Richfield Springs Central School for six years.
Where were you educated?
I received my Associates Degree at Mohawk Valley Community College, my Bachelor’s Degree at SUNY Oneonta and my Master’s Degree through the University of New England.
Where have you lived?
I have lived in West Winfield, NY since I was three years old.
If you could do anything on a weekend, what would you do?
I enjoy spending time with my family, whether it’s going shopping, cooking dinner or enjoying the outdoors.
What book and/or author are you currently reading?
I am currently reading This We Believe: Keys to Educating Young Adolescents.
If we were to listen to your iPod or sound system, what would be playing?
You would hear a lot of rock music from the 90’s…”Grunge” music.
What is your favorite television show/movie/actor?
The Walking Dead
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
One day I will visit the island of Cuba where my family is from. I want to see where my parents and grandparents lived.
What one thing would you share that people might not know about you?
I was an avid snowboarder for 15 years of my life. I am also a freelance makeup artist.
