Meet the Fisher Elementary Library M & M’s – Mary Day and Marilyn Behe!

Hi! I am Mary Day a library clerk at Fisher and have been with Ilion and Central Valley school districts for 15 years.

What do you like best about what you do?

    • Everyday is different
    • Working alongside great people

Where are you involved outside of school and what do you like best about it?

That I am able to have a positive impact on the lives of the children. To see them smile and enjoy learning warms my heart.

Where are you involved outside of school and what do you like best about it?

I am a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary for 25 years and president for 15. We raise money to help those in need. It is very gratifying.

What former jobs have you held?

Pharmacy tech at Lennox Brothers Pharmacy for 16 years.

Where were you educated?

    • Annunciation School, K-8
    • Ilion High School, 9-12

Where have you lived?

Ilion my entire life.

If you could do anything on a weekend, what would you do?

Go boating on the St. Lawrence River and spend time with my grandchildren.

What book and/or author are you currently reading?

Wonder by RJ Palacio

What is your favorite television show/movie/actor?

    • TV – I do not watch too much TV
    • Movie – Tombstone, 1991
    • Actor – Liam Neeson

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Europe – I was there two years ago when my son Adam was studying in Florence, Italy and I want to go back, it is beautiful!


Hi! I am Marilyn Behe, a teacher assistant in the library at Fisher and have worked at Mohawk and Central Valley school districts for 7 years.

What do you like best about what you do?

Reading stories the children will always remember. Library is a great special!

Where are you involved outside of school and what do you like best about it?

This position has created events for me to create a positive life for students. It makes them wonder and ask questions when I read to them. A great escape for all!

I am involved with my family and friends. I enjoy being with children and people of all ages.
