The CVA team won each preliminary round and the title match. They become the first NNDCC team to ever earn a spot at nationals. Only NJROTC teams have ever advanced.

Congratulations to Nicholas Shedd, Nolan Stone, Shreya Patel, Hannah Deluca, and Mitchell Clark!

The Brain Brawl pits teams of four contestants against three other teams in a lightning fast quiz competition. In the challenge round, all 16 contestants race to hit their buzzers for the a chance to answer the emcee’s question. Topics include Naval Science, history, and general science. A correct answer earns 10 points (wrong answer loses 5 points) and the opportunity for that person’s team to collaborate to answer four bonus questions, each worth five points. Follow-up questions are generally pop culture and sports. The game eventually moves to a lighting round where individuals buzz in to answer questions, this time with no bonus. The four teams with the most points move on to the final game for the title

The team is now fundraising the $5,000 needed for airfare, hotels, and meals. Nationals will be in late April in San Diego.
