The CVA National Honor Society is one of the school most active groups when it comes to serving the community. This year, the members have:
- Collected donations for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer,
- Donated and handed out candy at Connected Community Schools' Trunk or Treat at Jarvis,
- Rang the bell outside of Walmart for the Salvation Army at Christmastime,
- Made and delivered Valentine's Day cards to residents at the Grand in Ilion,
- Donated and collected socks for the homeless, and
- Assisted with Catholic Charities efforts, Fisher's Family Game Night, Ft. Herkimer Cleanup, and Frankfort Rotary Dinner.
Frequently stereotyped as a group that focuses on academic achievement, Honor Society is much more. To be considered for membership, students must exhibit the Four Pillars of leadership: service, character, scholarship, and citizenship. Members then donate their time to improve our communities.
