On May 26, Central Valley Academy encouraged students to go just one day without their cellphones. The goal was to draw attention to the effects of cellphone use and social media on mental health. (Read the original article about Cellphone Free Day)

As an incentive for participating, each class earned money for class activities. The class with the most participation earned a bonus—an opportunity to throw a whipped cream pie at CVA Principal Dick Keeler.

On June 14, the entire student body turned out in the main gym to watch members of the Class of 2024 "pie" Mr. Keeler and a group of faculty and staff volunteers.
