Friday, November 6th will be an emergency virtual learning day. All Central Valley PreK-8 students will learn from home. P-Tech, Occ Ed, and out of district BOCES students who attend Jarvis and Barringer Road will attend in-person. Central Valley employees will report as normal.

After 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, Superintendent Jeremy Rich was informed that an employee of the Birnie Bus company has tested positive for COVID-19. As a precaution, the Herkimer County Public Health Department recommended that Central Valley call the virtual learning day to give health officials the opportunity to begin contact tracing and to minimize potential exposure to students or staff. Tomorrow the Health Department will begin notifying the families of those students who had close contact with this individual.

Under state and federal privacy laws, Central Valley cannot share details that could identify the adult or possible students affected. School officials will share relevant information as it becomes available.
