The latest edition of the Jarvis Newspaper is "on the stands." Get your copy here. The Fall 2021 edition includes music, book, and movie reviews, an interview with new math teacher Ms. Cappelli, poetry, crafts, and a pumpkin pie recipe!

To no surprise, Newspaper Club offers students in grades 5-8 a chance to refine their writing skills and to show their creativity. Advisor Ann Marie Horan stresses that the club offers something more. Students, whether hybrid or remote last year, missed out on connecting with new friends and building relationships. The club provides vital time to simply hang out with other students outside of class.

This edition marks the beginning of the publication's fifth year. Even COVID could not stop the press. Despite the interruption, the dedicated team managed to put out one virtual edition.

Anyone attending Jarvis Middle School can join. The current team includes returning eighth graders, a seventh grader, and a handful of sixth graders. Staff members choose the type of article they want to research and write. Prior to publishing, each contributor meets with Ms. Horan to review and make any needed edits.

"My hope is to put out three to four editions this year," said Ms. Horan.

"I love it because we keep the idea of a traditional newspaper alive, putting actual paper copies in students' hands."
