The Career and College Resource Center is a Central Valley Academy resource area which houses reference materials and computer programs on occupations, vocational/technical schools, colleges, post-secondary school planning, military careers and job skills.
Purpose of the Career and College Center
Provides a comfortable environment for a centralized location for career resources and exploration
Promotes thoughtful career planning and decision making
Assists individuals in utilizing resources to achieve personal goals
Provides occupational, educational and self-awareness information
Assists individuals in accessing personal attitudes, values, interests and aptitudes
Provides visitation time to facilitate specific subject area exploration

A computer to assist you with college, career and military planning
Choices, a computer software program for college and career searches

Guidance counselors are available to assist you in utilizing the Career and College Resource Center. Please stop into the guidance office to schedule an appointment or obtain a pass to come during a free period or after school to utilize the resources available to you.

Military Careers Information
ASVAB Practice Exam – The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is a timed test designed to assess an applicants skills. It measures students current skills and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.
MyFuture.com – Information related to all of the Services (U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard). Each branch of the Military has a unique range of skills you can learn. Many of the jobs available have civilian equivalents, meaning you can take your skills beyond the Military into a successful career.
