Central Valley lead testing results 2020-21

In accordance with New York State requirements, Central Valley Central School District tests drinking water outlets for the presence of lead every five years. Lead is known to pose serious health risks to adults and children.

Central Valley works in conjunction with the Herkimer BOCES Safety Service to test every water outlet where a person might draw drinking water. Each link below lists the building's outlet, the date of sampling, the date of analysis and the results. If a sample exceeded the safety threshold of 15 parts per billion of lead, the spreadsheet includes the steps taken to correct the issue. This may include taking the outlet out of service, replacing the outlet, or placarding the outlet (posting an age-appropriate sign, warning the user not to drink the water). Note that lead is considered a hazard only if consumed. Water with lead levels greater than 15 parts per billion is still safe for washing.
