Central Valley COVID Tracing Plan

In the event a student, staff member or visitor tests positive for COVID-19, Central Valley will immediately notify the Herkimer County Department of Health.

Central Valley CSD will provide the Department of Health with necessary information to identify those who may be at risk through close contact (within 6 feet for at least 10 minutes of a confirmed case) or proximate contact (in the same room as a confirmed case for an hour or more). This information may include:

  • Attendance rosters for students or staff who came into close or proximate contact,

  • Bus riders in close or proximate contact,

  • Students living in the same household as the confirmed case, and

  • Visitors log

To facilitate this process, the district will:

  • Maintain accurate attendance records for students and staff,

  • Maintain accurate student schedules,

  • Maintain a visitor's log (name, date, time, building/department visited,) and

  • Assist the local health department in tracing in accordance with the protocol, training, and tools provided through the NYS Contact Tracing Program.

Central Valley CSD will comply with all federal and state laws and regulations addressing confidentiality.
