Curriculum and Instruction

Education curriculum in New York State is changing. In September 2017, the Board of Regents adopted the Next Generation Learning Standards, Art Standards, and new science standards. After several years of turmoil, the New York State Education Department and the Board of Regents is working hard to ensure students learn age-appropriate material that teaches them to read, write, and do math. The state is also creating new pathways to graduation, recognizing that not every student is headed to college to study science and technology.
