Fisher Elementary arrival and dismissal procedures

Arrival and Dismissal: Following Fisher’s arrival and dismissal procedures helps to promote the safe movement of students before and after our school day. These procedures also support the Fisher staff in the safe transition of students from our care to the care of parents adhering to the CDC guidelines.

School Begins: 8:30 a.m.
School Ends: 2:50 p.m.

Car rider arrival and dismissal procedures

Car Rider Morning Drop-off — 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. Car riders may be dropped off no earlier than 8:00 a.m. in the back entrance of the building. (After 8:30 a.m., you will need to come in through the main entrance doors to sign your child in.) You will need to wear a MASK when entering the building.

  • Stand Up, Mask Up!

  • Students must have a MASK on when exiting the car. If your child does not have a mask, one will be provided to them by a Fisher staff member.

  • All parents/guardians helping their child out of the car MUST have a MASK on at all times to adhere with the CDC social distancing guidelines.

  • Have your child ready to exit the car in the unloading zone located in the back of the school where Fisher staff will be waiting to unload your child from the vehicle.

  • Car Rider Morning Arrival Procedures

  • Parents arrive in the drop-off line no earlier than 8:00 a.m.

  • Pull forward to the orange cone in the loop in the back of the building where a staff member will be there to direct you.

  • We will unload six cars at a time. Once all six cars are safely unloaded, those cars will depart, and six more will pull up to be unloaded. (A Fisher staff member will come to assist your child.)

  • There will be signs posted with visuals for your child to follow as they exit the car to adhere to the CDC guidelines.

  • Note: There will be one lane for cars. Drivers attempting to leave before all six cars have unloaded may endanger walkers and other cars unloading. Violators will lose drop-off/pick-up privileges for the remainder of the year.

  • If your child needs assistance, please step out of your car and unbuckle him or her from their seat. You must wear a MASK while assisting your child.

  • All students MUST exit the car from the curbside door. (Your child will not be allowed to exit any other door due to traffic.)

  • Please watch for other moving vehicles/pedestrians and proceed with caution.

  • Please avoid texting or talking on the cell phone while in the parking lot.

  • No dogs are allowed on school property. The only exception is a service dog which papers will need to be provided for proof.

  • Smoking is not permitted on school grounds.

Car Rider Afternoon Pick-up: 2:50-3:15

  • Pull forward as far as you can to the orange cone in the loop in the back of the building where a staff member will be there to direct you.

  • We will load six cars at a time. Once all six cars are safely loaded, those cars will depart, and six more will pull up to be loaded. (A Fisher staff member will assist your child to your vehicle.)

  • There will be signs posted with visuals for your child to follow as they exit the building to adhere to the CDC guidelines.

  • Note: There will be one lane for cars. Drivers attempting to leave before all six cars have loaded may endanger walkers and other cars loading. Violators will lose drop-off/pick-up privileges for the remainder of the year.

  • Place a card with your child’s name in the passenger side dash so it is visible for the Fisher staff to see. Your child’s classroom teacher will send home a visor tag with your child’s name/teacher on the first day of school. The tags will be color coded by grade level.

  • If your child needs assistance, please step out of your car and stand on the sidewalk near the passenger side door to buckle your child into their seat. You MUST wear a MASK if you are getting out of your car.

  • All students MUST enter your vehicle from the curbside door. (Your child may not enter any other door due to traffic.)

  • Please watch for other moving vehicles/pedestrians and proceed with caution.

  • Please avoid texting or talking on the cell phone while in the parking lot.

  • No dogs are allowed on school property. The only exception is a service dog which papers will need to be provided for proof.

  • Smoking is not permitted on school grounds.

  • Requests to change a student’s normal transportation method or time must be made by 12 noon.

Walker students arrival and dismissal procedures

Walkers Morning Arrival: 8:00 - 8:30 a.m.

  • Each child will have their temperature taken by a Fisher staff member before being able to enter the building.

  • Please remain with your child until their temperature has been taken.

  • If your child doesn’t have a temperature they will enter the school building.

  • If your child has a temperature of 100.0 or more, you will be asked to wait a few minutes and a staff member will re-check your child’s temperature. If your child still has a temperature of 100.0 or more they will need to go home with you.

  • Stand Up, Mask Up!

  • Students must have a mask on when entering the building. If your child does not have a mask, one will be provided to them by a Fisher staff member.

  • All parents/guardians escorting their child to school MUST have a MASK on at all times to adhere with the CDC social distancing guidelines.

  • Fisher staff will be waiting to for your child at the cafeteria doors.

  • Walker Morning Arrival Procedures

  • Students walking to school with a parent should be dropped off no earlier than 8:00 a.m. (After 8:30 a.m., you will need to come into the office to sign your child in.)

  • Students will enter the building through the cafeteria entrance doors on Fisher Avenue. Students must enter the building with a mask.

  • Parents may not walk their children into the building.

  • There will be signs posted with visuals for your child to follow as they enter the building to adhere to the CDC guidelines.

  • All walkers should use the designated crosswalk and sidewalk area for safety.

  • No dogs are allowed on school property. The only exception is a service dog which papers will need to be provided for proof.

  • Smoking is not permitted on school grounds.

Walkers Afternoon Pick-up: 2:50-3:15 p.m.

  • Students will exit the building out the Fisher Avenue doors near the cafeteria.

  • Students using this dismissal process will be escorted to their parents by a Fisher Staff member. Parents picking up their children MUST have a MASK on when picking up their children. Parents must follow social distancing guidelines when waiting for their child.

  • There will be signs posted with visuals for your child to follow as they exit the building to adhere to the CDC guidelines.

  • All walkers should use the designated crosswalk and sidewalk area for safety.

  • No dogs are allowed on school property. The only exception is a service dog which papers will need to be provided for proof.

  • Smoking is not permitted on school grounds.

  • Please refrain from making daily dismissal changes unless it is an emergency. We are adhering to the CDC guidelines during these unprecedented times and need to be mindful of our transportation. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Bus rider arrival and dismissal procedures

  • Each child will have their temperature taken by a Fisher staff member before being able to enter the building.

  • If your child doesn’t have a temperature they will enter the school building.

  • If your child has a temperature of 100.0 or more, your child will be brought to the school nurse where she will assess your child. Your child’s temperature will be re-checked at this time. If your child still has a temperature of 100.0 or more you will be called to come pick them up from school.

  • Stand Up, Mask Up!

  • Students must have a mask on when entering the building. If your child does not have a mask, one will be provided to them by a Fisher staff member.

  • Bus Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

  • Each child will have their temperature taken by a Fisher staff member before being able to enter the building.

  • Bus students will be dropped off/picked in the front of the building at the main entrance. There is no parent pick up in the front entrance of the building. The front entrance is only to be used by the school buses.

  • Fisher staff will be located at all entrance doors, throughout the hallways, and the building upon the students’ arrival.

  • There will be signs posted with visuals for your child to follow as they enter/exit the building to adhere to the CDC guidelines.

6:6 Program

  • The 6:6 program will take place daily at Fisher Elementary

  • Parents will need to enter the Fisher Cafeteria doors for drop off and pick up of their child daily. Parents picking up their children MUST have a MASK on when dropping off and picking up their children. Parents must follow social distancing guidelines when dropping off and picking up their children.

  • Students will be located in the Fisher cafeteria both in the AM/PM

  • There will be a shuttle bus to transport any Barringer students to and from the 6:6 program daily.

  • There will be signs posted with visuals for your child to follow as they enter/exit the building to adhere to the CDC guidelines.
