The holidays are here and the Jarvis Yearbook Club is again holding its “Regifted Rummage Sale” fundraiser.
Parents, staff, and other supporters are asked to donate “regifted” items that students may purchase in a “five-and-dime store” in the Jarvis office.
The concept is the brainchild of Jarvis science teacher Jen DeRocco.
“The idea for this came while doing some housework and realizing I had several unopened lotions/body wash sets…you know, those obligatory Christmas present ones,” she said.
“I thought it would be nice if we could have something where students could purchase really affordable gifts, clothing, etc. for their loved ones or themselves.”
Items are priced between 25¢ and $5—within reach of most students. The school also has a system where students can earn coupons from their teachers for store credit.
Ms. DeRocco suggests donating any items that might have been headed to the Goodwill or anything you can re-gift guilt-free. Drop your donation off at Jarvis or your child’s school. She said they also need left over wrapping paper and gift bags.
The sale will be held December 18-22. Any profits will help offset the cost of middle school yearbooks.
