Renee Rudd to assist Jarvis principal

Central Valley School District welcomes back former CVA principal Renee Rudd as an administrator assisting the principal at Jarvis Middle School. The board of education appointed Rudd to the post at its regular meeting on Wednesday, Mar. 28.

Rudd replaces Central Valley Director of Curriculum and Instruction Debora Van Slyke who is leaving to take the same post at Clinton Central Schools. Van Slyke was filling in after former Jarvis assistant principal Aaron Carey became the Barringer Road principal.

“We want to thank Deb for her service to Central Valley as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and then for helping out with administrative duties at Jarvis. We wish her the very best at Clinton,”  said CVA superintendent Jeremy Rich.

Rudd had served as Ilion Junior-Senior High School principal and became CVA principal when the Mohawk and Ilion merged. She retired as CVA principal in 2015. Since then, she has traveled and enjoyed her retirement.

“Renee is the perfect person to fill this need,” said Rich.

“She is familiar with our district and has the experience and expertise to get us through the next few months until we hire a permanent replacement. I am thrilled to have her back.”

Rudd will serve April 16-June 30.
