Voters approve Remington sale

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, voters of the Central Valley School District approved the referendum authorizing the Board of Education to sell the former Remington school building to Herkimer BOCES for one dollar plus customary closing costs. The results were:

  • Yes – 256
  • No – 16

“We are pleased that our voter saw the logic in this referendum,” said Superintendent Jeremy Rich.

“We thoroughly explored our options and this makes the most sense for our school district, both financially and academically.”

Rich said the next step rests with Herkimer BOCES board, which will seek authorization to purchase the building from Central Valley.
