Chandler named DAR Good Citizen

Central Valley Academy is pleased to announce that senior Elijah Chandler is Central Valley Academy's 2024 recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen award. The award recognizes Elijah for embodying the qualities of service, dependability, patriotism, and leadership. The award is presented by the Oneida Chapter of the DAR.

"One of Central Valley Academy's primary purposes is to prepare our students as citizens in our society," said CVA principal Dick Keeler. "Elijah has embraced those lessons and is ready to serve and lead anywhere he calls home."

The DAR Good Citizen differs from other awards in that both teachers and peers choose the recipient. DAR recipients have earned the respect of adults and fellow students. In addition to a cash award,  Elijah can now pursue DAR scholarships through the organization's essay contest.
