The Central Valley Academy Thunder wrestling team captured it seventh straight Section 3 Title and now moves on to compete for the the NYS Title at the NYSPHSAA Wrestling Dual Meet Championships beginning at 9 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 27 at Onondaga Community College's SRC Arena in Syracuse.
The Thunder have qualified for the state tournament six times in the past, finishing second twice.
Central Valley will wrestle against Section 1 champ Sleepy Hollow at 9 a.m. and then Section 8 champ WT Clarke at noon. Semi finals are at 2:30 p.m., followed by finals at 5 p.m.
