September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. In support, Fisher Elementary School collected snacks and treats to stock a cart at Albany Medical Center's Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and a Blood Disorders. The cart is a special project of Anna's Sunflower Warriors, the foundation created to honor the memory of Central Valley student Anna LaBella. Anna lost her courageous battle with cancer in 2022.
From September 25 - 29, Fisher students collected fruit roll ups, small bags of chips, granola bars, breakfast bars, handi-snacks, slim jims, mini-crackers, mini-muffins, animal crackers, fun-size candy bars, bubble gum, trail mix snack packs, goldfish crackers, etc.
