poster with man's photo and a jar with coins. Text says Fisher Family F'ilanthropy Celebrate the 100th day of school by donating any type of coin(s) on Feb. 12-13. All proceeds will go to Jarvis Middle School Jarvis faculty, staff and students will be deciding the best use of the donations to honor Mr. Pratt's memory.

Fisher Elementary School decided to do something a little different this year to mark the 100th day of school. Instead of asking students to paste 100 cotton balls or pasta or beans on construction paper, the school chose to connect the day to the  February Fisher 'F'ilanthropy event.

February 12-13, the Fisher family was invited to bring in coins that the school would donate to a fund established at Jarvis Middle School in memory of Middle School Principal Charlie Pratt.  Every type of coin, from a penny to a dollar was welcome. The goal was for each classroom to collect 100 assorted coins.

Fisher Elementary School collected:

  • 2 - $20 bills
  • 1-  $10 bill
  • 1 - $5 bill
  • 5 - $1 bills
  • 1 - $1 coin
  • 699 quarters
  • 1,122 dimes
  • 640 nickels
  • 3,617 pennies

The total came to $416.12!

"As always, our Fisher family exceeded what we hoped for. Thank you everyone for your generosity and thoughtfulness," said Fisher Principal Jessica Bowman.
