On June 7, Jarvis Middle School and Central Valley Connected Community Schools held a "Wellness Expo" during student lunch periods. Students visited various community agency booths, learning about the many services they provide within the community. The students also learned ways they could be a part and how they could benefit from those programs.
The event is part of Central Valley CSD's ongoing efforts to tackle issues of mental health and wellness. It coincides with the 17th running of the Mott Marathon Challenge and its theme of mental health. Jarvis runners will kick off the marathon with the Jarvis Mile.
"It was a wonderful event where students had the chance to mingle with one another, communicate with community members, and focus on mental health and wellness," said Assistant Principal Luke Manolescu.
"We would like to thank those cooperating agencies who helped make this a success."
