New York State Education Department requires all 6th and 7th graders to have up-to-date immunizations and that those records are on file with the school nurse within 14 days from the first day of school. Beginning Sept. 20, students without immunization records will be excluded from attending school until parents/guardians provide the nurse with proof of immunization. Specifically:
- The requirement for Grade 6: Tdap
- The requirement for Grade 7: Meningitis
Immunizations are available from your personal healthcare professional or from the Herkimer County Public Health Department. Immunization clinics are held 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. every Tuesday at Herkimer County Public Health ,301 N. Washington St. (3rd fl.), Herkimer. Additional Immunization Clinics will run 3-6 p.m. on:
- Monday, Aug 7
- Monday, Aug 21
- Monday, Sept. 11.
