On Friday, Mar. 24, Fisher Elementary kindergarteners and first graders joined a live-streamed book tour, featuring author/illustrator Angelique Monet and her children's book, "The Bravest Worrier." Herkimer County System of Care and Integrated Community Network (ICAN) sponsored the event for students in grades K-5 across Herkimer County. Angelique Monet was born and raised in Utica, NY.

Ms. Monet, who was born and raised in Utica, NY,  explained where she finds her inspiration, and how she writes and illustrates.  She invited students to share their story ideas and also answered student questions. As an added bonus, each participating classroom received of copy of the book, courtesy of Herkimer County SOC and ICAN.

Fisher principal Jessica Bowman said the day was more special knowing the author was an area native.

"The students and teachers enjoyed the opportunity to interact with an author/illustrator who grew up so close to the Central Valley School District and to have their own classroom copy of Monet's book," she said.

"The Bravest Worrier is whimsical, exciting, and timeless story to help readers take back their joy by overcoming worry and anxiety. (thebravestworrier.com)
