3 children on waterslide

It happens every summer. Students enjoy the weather and the break from school, but slip backwards in some of their important reading and math skills. When classes start in the fall, they often struggle to get those skills back.

Fisher Elementary School wants to partner with parents to help stop the "summer slide."

The school will hold a special Parent Night 5:30-7 p.m. on Wed., June 7 in the school cafeteria.  Our teachers will share some great ideas parents can use to help their children keep what they have learned.

The evening will include:

  • Multiple stations with presentations from Fisher Classroom and RTI teachers,
  • Grade specific activities for students in PreKindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grade 1,
  • Free resources to utilize at home with your child to support math and reading skills, and
  • “Summer Sun Learning Fun” Kit filled with additional resources for the first 150 families.
