Jarvis Middle School recognized students who demonstrated June's character theme—courage.
To receive the honor, students must demonstrate courage. Courage is the ability to do something that frightens one or to demonstrate strength in the face of pain or grief. Student names are announced over the daily announcements. Teachers and support staff nominate students who model the month's character theme. At the end of the month, nominated students receive a certificate, gather for a group photo, and are entered in a prize drawing for a t-shirt.
"These students showed their courage by prioritizing academics, speaking up when needed, being responsible, and trusting yourself in doing something you are afraid to do," said assistant principal Luke Manolescu.
"Many have shown tremendous growth throughout the year and are excellent role models in our building. They have shown that they are true leaders and lead by example...Mr. Pratt and I thank our dedicated teachers and staff this year for nominating students and for playing an active role in our positive behaviors and initiatives this year!"
