two school buses, students lined up on sidewalk

In October, our prekindergarten students all boarded a bus to learn all about bus safety. They sat in the seats, met the bus driver, and practiced an emergency exit.

PreK is a time of firsts. For some, it may be the first time in a school, the first time in the cafeteria, or the first time in a library. For almost all, however, PreK is the first time for riding a school bus.

Every student, even walkers and car riders, will eventually ride the bus. It may be for a field trip or later as part of a sports team or school club. Whenever students ride the bus, it is important they understand how to stay safe on the bus. At some point they need to learn simple things such as staying in their seats and not distracting the driver.

"Thank you to our bus drivers, teachers, and aides for making this a fun and educational time for our young students," said Fisher Principal Jessica Bowman.
