Students at Jarvis Middle School were nominated for the first annual "Character Breakfast" Award Ceremony. With the conclusion of Quarter 1, teachers at Jarvis Middle School each nominated one student who displayed outstanding school effort, had a positive impact at school, and consistently put forth academic excellence. Students and parents were invited to an award ceremony at Jarvis Middle School where administration highlighted student success and shared with parents the wonderful comments teachers nominated them for.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, students and parents were invited to the cafeteria for a breakfast with administration. Breakfast sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, danishes, and coffee/juice were all available for students and parents.

"It was a great opportunity for Mr. Pratt, Mrs. Wares, and me to build relationships with parents/guardians," said assistant principal Luke Manolescu.

"Parent engagement and support is crucial and this is an excellent way to get parents/guardians in school, communicating, and actively involved in their child's education!"

More than 50 students were nominated for this quarter's Character Breakfast, a huge success.

"Thank you to the many groups and individuals who made this possible," said Mr. Manolescu.

"Thank you to the Central Valley CSD Foundation for helping underwrite the cost of the breakfast. Thank you as well to our dedicated teachers for always pushing our students to be the best and challenging them to be successful. Of course, this could not happen with Food Service Director Dominick Mauro who coordinated the breakfast and the Jarvis cafeteria staff and head cook Lori Salvagni for setting up and preparing the breakfast as well!"
