Johna Cusworth (Central Valley '14) was named the Central Valley School District Foundation's 2020 Panarites Medical Award recipient. The Foundation awards the $1,000-scholarship to a Central Valley alum who has completed an undergraduate program, has been accepted into a medical or healthcare-related higher education program, and whose application outlines his or her future goals as a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant.

“We are proud to honor Johna as she continues her career goal to become a nurse practitioner,” said JoAnn Duga, Foundation president. “Now more than ever we are pleased to recognize the next generation of healthcare providers who will keep our communities healthy.”

Cusworth is entering SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Master of Science Family Nurse Practitioner program of study and is currently a nurse working in the emergency department at St. Luke’s Hospital. A 2014 graduate of Central Valley Academy and a 2020 graduate of Morrisville College, she is the daughter of Vicki and Dan Cusworth of Mohawk.
